The Enemy of The People - Classroom Spies II

The Enemy of The People - Classroom Spies IIContinuing on from yesterday's article about Classroom Spies, the following comment was made by one visitor to this site:

"Its true and is happening!

Our son came home from school on Thursday and told us that their class had been asked to do an on-line survey. Many very personal questions were asked about their parents & homelife
."

Now here are the questions/points that I would ask/raise with this school, were I parent confronted with learning that my child had to answer an online survey of this nature:

1 What are the security arrangements wrt the data collected?

2 Does it comply with the data protection act?

3 Who will have access to this data?

4 As the child is a minor, parental permission should have been sought before personal data such as this was collected. Why was no permission sought?

5 What do you intend to do with this data?

6 I do not give you permission to collect, use or share this data. Delete it immediately.

Having raised those points with the school, make a formal complaint to the Data Commissioner.

Yes Ken, I like the idea of using Nanny's own rules and laws to beat her with!!

    Very inspiring and informative stuff!
    Thanks Ken and Tonk.
Now, just for a moment, try to imagine the possibilities...
Not one, but, thousands of disgruntled parents, peacefully, taking back their own parental power.
    Oh....how I love this idea :-)

The State (Nanny) has always gathered this information, don't you remember how you always had to write your "news" at school?. Same thing as that I think.
One might even say that Nanny is being more "honest" (doublespeak word)with us by having kids do this exercise.

    NOT!

I do agree though, it's getting very bad in Britain and I fear we have some way to fall before some brave man says "enough". But sooner or later I believe the balance which is tipping dangerously towards police state Britain will right itself. When normal day to day living for law abiding citizens becomes unbearable enough people will fight back.

My daughter once had a private tutor who allowed her onto the web, divulging personal/family details without my consent.

The tutor was dismissed, threatened with a lawsuit and returned all the term's fees.

Treat Nanny's local school minions in the same fashion. In short, fight back and do not allow the politically correct drones to run your children's lives.
